Spy Numbers websiteHere's an NPR story about themMan, these are so creepy. Lots of people assume they are encoded messages. My guess is that they are actually indexes into one-time pads that people could carry around, or they could be random seeds for random number generators that people would carry. Any way about it, it's like one has visibility into a world that you have no right to see into. Part of me would love to become head of the US Senate Committee on Intelligence to find out the truth about this and other great mysteries (such as there have never been any aliens, there was no conspiracy with Kennedy, etc) ... the other half of me would hate to lose the feeling of wonder I carry around by not knowing. Would you want to know if you could tell no one?D
